Preschool just wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t get to cook a meal or two right? Kids need not cook difficult dishes to enjoy the experience. Just let them fry some hot dogs or any of their favorite food, and I guarantee they’ll have a smile on their face when they’re done. In fact, the simpler the meal, the better. It makes them feel that they actually could already cook!

Before taking out those pots and pans, we always enjoy dressing up first. So just like every chef around, we decide to wear some toques! But not just any toques. We made our own toques complete with our picture and favorite food! Yey!

What you will need:

  • White Large  semi-board Paper (Cartolina)
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Pictures of Favorite Food (optional)
  • Own Pictures (optional)

PREPARING THE TOQUE:

Step 1: For the toque itself, you’ll need to cut the white paper to make the toque at least 7 inches in height and around 1m in length

*It should be long since it will still get shorter when we start folding

Step 2: Cut a smaller part (around 1 inch in height and same length) from the paper

Step 3: Start folding the paper to make the layers for the toque

Step 4: Stick the 1 inch cut out you made earlier below the toque as its base. Don’t worry if there is an excess. This will be useful for kids with larger heads

*Don’t close it up yet

DECORATING THE TOQUE

Give the kids their toques and let them stick on their favorite food!

Afterward, measure their heads so it fits perfectly on them!

NOW, WE’RE ALL READY TO START COOKING! YEY!
