PDIC Takbo 2: Run for the Victims of Yolanda
by Cheryl Villareal on Apr 26th, 2015
It’s been over a year since Typhoon Haiyan/ Yolanda struck the Philippines, leaving several homeless, jobless or worse. Though the rest of the country seems to have already moved on, those that were directly in the typhoon’s path still continue to struggle to make ends meet. This is where PDIC comes in. The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) is a government instrumentality created in 1963 by virtue of Republic Act 3591 to in...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Share Your #MessagesofHope for the Victims of Yolanda
by Cheryl Villareal on Nov 13th, 2014
It was all over the news. A huge storm was coming, and the Philippines was in its path. The rest of the world called it Haiyan, we named it Yolanda. We were used to typhoons in the Philippines, but we weren’t ready for one of the strongest and most powerful typhoons on earth. Last Nov. 8, 2013, Yolanda made landfall and struck several parts of the Philippines. One of the most badly hit cities was Tacloban. More than just cars and properties,...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

It’s baaaackkk!! I’m not sure if you heard of it, but 2 years ago, an enormously successful and fun Dance 4 Life was held at Venice Piazza, Mckinley Hill. by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 27th, 2014
The first week of November marks the anniversary of one of the strongest typhoons the Philippines had to go through, Typhoon Yolanda. It was a dark and scary day for our kababayans especially in Tacloban, Samar, etc. This year, as we remember the first year anniversary of Yolanda, a fun run will be held in Manila in memory of all those whose lives were taken or gravely affected that day. Takbo ng mga Kusinero at iba pang Sangay ng Turismo will ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Takbo Sa Pagbangon ng Leyte
by Cheryl Villareal on Apr 6th, 2014
The past few weeks, I've been hearing a bunch of races all being done for the benefit of the victims of Typhoon Yolanda. It's been months since the typhoon hit but this country still has a long way to go. As we all know, a lot of homes were destroyed and turned to rubble when the typhoon hit. Several victims have already found shelter in Manila, while others have no where else to go. “Takbo sa Pagbangon ng Leyte” is a Benefit Run for typhoo...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

by Cheryl Villareal on Mar 29th, 2014
Several months have passed since Yolanda struck the Philippines and altered the lives of thousands. Several people and families were left with nothing but the clothes on their bodies and a fighting spirit. Since then, government groups and volunteers have already organized various programs and ways to help the survivors. We’ve gone a long way since and a lot of people have already gotten back on their feet, however, there’s still a long way t...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Run for a Better Christmas on December 21
by Cheryl Villareal on Dec 13th, 2013
Let’s run for a cause once more and help spread the cheer this Christmas. Run for a Better Christmas is a run for a cause that will benefit all the places and people affected by Typhoon Yolanda in the Visayas and Mindanao regions. The run will be held just a few days before Christmas and I think it’s the perfect time to share the love. What: Run for a Better Christmas When: December 2...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )
