Codley and the Big Storm Book Review
by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 14th, 2012
As preschool teachers, we can’t help but grab every book we see with a catchy title or a cool cover page. I personally am always on a quest to find the best books so I can read the story to my students based on our theme. As long as the illustration is good, I always find a way to use it with my toddlers. I can always change the words a bit for their level. A few months ago, I was sent an e-book of the book Codley and the Big Storm...Read More » Tags Share Comments (2 )

Eric Carle Collage in Brown Bear Brown Bear
by Cheryl Villareal on Nov 27th, 2011
The kids have always loved BROWN BEAR, they love learning the different colors while also seeing the pictures of different animals! Moreover, they enjoy singing the song while looking at the pictures. This time, we wanted to try and make collages. If they picked PU...Read More » Tags Share Comments (2 )

Warm up this winter season with a bowl of stone stoup! Several kids enjoy this story. Some would really think that it was magic that turned the stone into soup,...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Going on a Bear Hunt
by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 16th, 2010
We're going on a bear hunt is a book written by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury. It's such a fun and interactive story in which it would be impossible for a child to just sit and listen... (unless the teacher says so I guess). The book is about a family going on a bear hunt! On their way, they come across several obstacles. "Uh-oh, mud! Thick oozy mud! Can't go over it, can't go under it. Uh-oh, we have to go through it!" If you can draw or p...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Hug by Jez Alborough
by Cheryl Villareal on Aug 10th, 2010
Just seeing the front cover already caught my attention! It's a really cute story about a baby monkey who just really wants a hug! Who would've thought that a book containing only ONE word would be so much fun? Children of all ages can relate to it... from the tiny toddlers to the grown up kindergartners. The book is simply about a little monkey taking a walk around the jungle. He sees different animal cubs and their mommies all hugging. The ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )
