Globe Run for Home 2011 at the Bonifacio Global City and Makati Central Business District
by Cheryl Villareal on Mar 3rd, 2011
In its run last 2009, Globe Run For Home introduced the use of timing chips. I must say, these chips have proven to be very useful over the past years. It's also what I usually look for if a race asks for more than 500php. On it's 2nd run last 2010, Globe Run for Home decided to use recycled PET bottles for the singlets! I'm not sure how to explain PET bottles to those who don't know, but basically, these are the plastic bottles of mineral wate...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

by Cheryl Villareal on Jan 24th, 2011

On the week itself however, there was a change of plans and I almost didn't make it to the run! ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

St. Peter Life Run perfectly defines a FUN RUN
by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 25th, 2010
Last October 24, 2010, most runners I knew opted to register for the Adidas King of the Road Challenge. I on the other hand ran the St. Peter Life Run. I honestly wanted to join the King of the Road, but I just thought the price was too expensive. Imagine paying 850 pesos to run? This was just way over budget for me! It felt more as if you were paying for the singlet/the brand. Meanwhile, the St. Peter Life Run only cost 50 pesos! That's an 800 p...Read More » Tags Share Comments (4 )

Run for Knowledge: Karunungan Manila 2010
by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 21st, 2010
I am a teacher myself, I understand how important it is for children to be able to receive a proper education. Though I still think that nothing compares to being inside the actual classroom, the Knowledge Channel helps reach out to those who are unable to pay for a proper education. The Knowledge Channel has already helped several children gain the much needed skills they need through their educational and interactive lessons with the virtual te...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Miles for Smiles: Our Victorious Results
by Cheryl Villareal on Aug 22nd, 2010
After a month of waiting... the day of the race finally arrived! A month ago, I remember asking everyone I knew if they wanted to join my running team! You see, participating in the run as a team would automatically sponsor the cleft operation of one child! I wanted to be a part of that! It was difficult finding my 9 team mates because of the distance we had to run and the price we had to pay. Running as a team was 15,000 pesos (1,500 each) for 1...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Run to Read: Results of my first 10km run
by Cheryl Villareal on Aug 17th, 2010
Last Aug. 15, I ran my first 10k marathon! I originally wanted to sign up for the 5k run (as I always do) but unfortunately, I was told that there were no more slots! Hence, my fiancè took it a challenge and registered us both for the 10k run! My initial reaction: "OMG?! WTF! I'm gonna die!" And of course, he had to slap me back to sanity!.... but seriously, I was nervous. . The PRE-RUN Philippe (my fiancè) and I registered for the run...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )
