Runfest 2013: Takbo.ph Anniversary Run
by Cheryl Villareal on Jul 21st, 2013
I remember back when I was just in my beginning years of running, my boyfriend told me of this cool run where runners would be given a chance to personalize their singlets. Apparently, this run was organized by a website called Takbo.ph. Registrations started and ended as early as May for a run that was happening in July. I was amongst the lucky ones who found out about it in time. Little did I know, I was becoming part of history! Takbo.ph Runf...Read More » Tags Share Comments (2 )

by Clarissa Almeida on Jan 14th, 2013
It’s been a nice experience at the recently concluded [email protected] Fun Run 2013 at CCP Complex last January 12, 2013. The weather was just fine that we were able to start and finish the race safe and warm. Groups of runners, families, and friends gathered at the assembly area waiting for the gun start, and they were excited just as I am for our first run of the year. Approachable staffs and race organizers were seen helping out some runners for t...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

For the past 2 years, elite runner and college teacher Michelle Estuar has celebrated her birthday by giving back to the running community in a FUN’d RAISING event dubbed ULTRAlympics. Don’t worry though, ‘coz the ULTRA there doesn’t stand for ULTRAmarathon, it simple stands for ULTRA Coliseum or what’s now known as the Philsports Arena. Last Friday, Nov. 30, Michelle celebrated her birthday with the running community for the 2...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

When word of another outbreak got out, everyone rushed over to the nearest registration sites to secure their slots. After the first two zombie outbreaks which took place in Nuvali and The Fort respectively, Outbreak Manila once again unleashed the living dead to nine thousand people on Halloween. Last October 31, 2012, a five-kilometer run like no other turned one of our favorite childhood places into a horror town. Outbreak Manila took over Enc...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

It was a rainy day, yet students and other runners still arrived at the Fort Bonifacio to participate in what was said to be one of the cleanest and most organized runs! Last July 8, 2012, I was among the 15,000++ runners who participated in a fun run organized by Athletes-in-Action called Schools Run for Schools Room! by Cheryl Villareal on Dec 31st, 2011
Just 2 weeks ago, Cagayan de Oro and Iligan was hit with a huge typhoon that destroyed several homes and took away thousands of lives. Typhoon Sendong was one of the strongest to ever hit the two places, and they sure weren’t ready for it. In the spirit of bayanihan, everyone else tried to help out by sending donations in cash and kind. Others even experienced going to Mindanao and seeing the damage first hand. For the running comm...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

A Letter of Apology from the ADBR Group
by Cheryl Villareal on Aug 30th, 2011
Mistakes are common. Everyone makes them. Regardless of how big or small the mistake, what makes you a man is the ability to accept these mistake and apologize for them. Many people REFUSE to admit mistake and instead argue, but the Ateneo Blue Diamond Race organizer accepted the mistakes made. In their defense though, several of these mistakes were not their fault. Had it not been for the bad weather, it might have turned out differently. &nb...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

My Results and Experience at the Ateneo Blue Diamond Race
by Cheryl Villareal on Aug 29th, 2011
Sometime last June, I heard about the Ateneo Blue Diamond Race. I didn't bother registering though 'coz it was still dated at the end of August and I was still waiting to see what other races would be held on the same date. However, sometime last July, a friend of mine insisted BADLY that we register for this run. She is not from Ateneo but is a HUGE fan of the school. She begged us to register and run with her on that date. So regardless of my b...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )
