The Condura Skyway Marathon 2013: Run for the Mangroves
by Cheryl Villareal on Nov 15th, 2012
The Condura Skyway Marathon began back in 2005, and it began with one man's dream to make a difference. After founder and chief organizer Ton Conception went on a trip to Tubbataha, he felt inspired to help and decided to use his love for running for a good cause. So after much planning, the 2008 Condura Race for Tubbataha took place. 2009 was then dedicated to the whale sharks, 2010 and 2011 for the dolphins and 2012 for the mangroves. Aro...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Run United 2013 Events Calendar
by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 30th, 2012
Hey guys! 2012 is about to come to an end and so is this year's Run United Series! Personally, I think the Run United Series just keeps getting better every year! Not only do they improve on the overall impact of the run, but they also help runners improve their speed and endurance by offering longer race distances. One of my favorite things about this year's Run United series is the race route from Fort to Moa! It made me feel I went even furthe...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

The Little Running Teacher in Runner’s World Philippines
by Cheryl Villareal on Feb 19th, 2012
October 19, 2011…As part of my daily routine, I checked my email and was surprised to see a message from an unfamiliar person with the subject “Feature for Runners’ World Philippines”. I quickly opened it and almost fell out of my seat with excitement after reading the message. In case you couldn’t read the small font, the message says, “Hi Cheryl, I’m working on a story for Runner’s World Philippines that ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (555 )

The 3rd Quezon City International Marathon
by Cheryl Villareal on Nov 26th, 2011
The Quezon City International Marathon started out back in 2009 and quickly worked it's way to the top. I heard about it in the past 2 years but have yet to try running her due to the unavoidable conflicts in my schedule. This year however, I think I'm going to break the ice. Not running a full marathon yet, but will at least experience running in the QCIM for the first time. Who knows, I might run my first marathon here in the future... after al...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Get Ready for The Greentennial Half Marathon
by Cheryl Villareal on Apr 23rd, 2011
Last January, I joined the 1st Greentennial Run with a friend. For a new name in the running world, Greentennial sure did not disappoint me. It was a clean run with lots of activities to do afterward! Because of the success of this run, several runners asked if they could organize another run, and so they did. But just before they finished it, the tragedies in Japan happened which led them to organize a run for the benefit of the victi...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Thoughts and Result of the RunRio Trilogy Leg 1 for 2011
by Cheryl Villareal on Mar 9th, 2011
Months before the race started, I was already feeling very eager and excited. Last year, I joined all 3 legs of the RunRio trilogy, and this year, I hope to achieve the same. I convinced my friends Jessica and Mon to join me and my fiance Philippe in the run. They were hesitant at first because of the price, but I convinced them Rio organized races were well worth it! They finally gave in and registered. I'm sure they did not regret it. :) The...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Much Fun at the Condura Skyway Marathon
by Cheryl Villareal on Feb 8th, 2011
I didn't use to be addicted to running, so I always missed the Condura marathon. Thankfully, I made it this year! - I waited all year last 2010 for the next Condura run. I heard it was good, plus I wanted to help save the dolphins. Finally, registration began and I immediately rushed to the nearest registration center to sign up. I was really looking forward to this run that I even told myself, I was going to beat my PR! Days before the rac...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )
