We all need shoes… and from this need, our wants grow! Wanting to have new and cute shoes… wanting to give our kids new and cute shoes too! But, since the kids grow up so quickly, these shoes also quickly shrink! (Yes, the shoes shrink!..kiddin’ of course) So what do we do with these shoes? Give them away or throw them in the garbage! Well, just before letting these go, why not have a fun and messy art activity with the kids first!

.

What you will need

  • Old shoes (canvass shoes like converse would yield better results)
  • Acrylic or All-purpose paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Huge smocks

.

.

First of all, make sure that if you’re doing the activity indoors, to cover all areas in which you do not want to get paint on. If there isn’t much furniture, then it might be easier to just wipe the paint off afterward.

Put some newspaper or tissue inside the shoes to avoid getting paint inside it.

Also, don’t forget to let the kids wear some smocks or aprons! The paint is really difficult to remove once it sticks.

Once everything is ready, hand your child the brush. Let him dip it in some paint and splatter it all over the shoes! Go wild!

The Results

These shoes can be sold on ebay! Aren’t they lovely? I wish I owned a pair of that!
