I’m a Nick Kid! I grew up watching cartoons on Nickelodeon like Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Kenan and Kel, the Amanda Show and more! 10 years later, I’m still a fan! I still watch Spongebob Squarepants, iCarly and Fairly Odd Parents! I’m just a kid at heart!
Last week, I had the privilege to attend my first ever Kid’s Choice Awards Preview Party at SM Megamall! It was a day full of fun, games, prizes and surprises! It made me wish I were a kid again just so I could join!
Before entering the cinema itself, aligned outside were the different sponsors of the day’s event! Sunkist Juice, La Dee Dah, Scott’s Vitamin C Pastilles and Toy Kingdom! Kids were all lining up to sign up or get a freebie, I was thrilled to see that adults were given some loot too! (heehee.. I’m a kid at heart!)
I found a seat and waited for the program to begin. Did you know that Nickelodeon has been around for 34 years, and the Kid’s Choice Awards for 26? It has been a highly anticipated show mostly because of all the slime the celebrities get! This was my first time to attend a preview party. I expected a few games prior to the showing. Surprisingly, there were around 5-8 games played! Almost every child in the audience got a chance to participate and no one went home empty handed!

I don’t exactly remember the name of this game, but kids needed to shoot a target and the last player would need to let the helicopter fly!

There were also several items up for grabs during the raffle like the One Direction Doll, Nickelodeon tote bag, La Dee Da doll and more!

After about an hour of fun and games, it was finally time to watch the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards on the big screen! 20 lucky kids and their friends got to join today’s party after participating in a raffle care of Toy Kingdom. All they needed to do was enter a vote for the Kid’s Choice Awards and this automatically entitled them a raffle stub! If you missed it, don’t worry, there’ll be another one next year, just make sure you stay tuned for updates!

And the winners are…
Some of the winners were Selena Gomez as favorite TV actress and Johnny Depp as favorite movie actor.
Katy Perry won the award for the favorite female singer and Justine Bieber as the favorite male singer (obviously)
Other awards were….
Victorious (Favorite TV Show), Wipeout (Favorite Reality Show), Spongebob Squarepants (Favorite cartoon), Ross Lynch (Favorite TV Actor) and Selena Gomez (Favorite TV Actress)
The Hunger Games also won favorite movie while Wreck-It-Ralph won favorite animated movie! Kristen Stewart won favorite movie actress as well as the favorite female buttkicker while Dwayne Johnson won favorite male buttkicker. Adam Sandler also bagged a prize as he won favorite voice in an animated movie.
I also LOVED the entrance song by 2013 Kids’ Choice Award host Josh Duhammel!
Dora, Diego, Spongebob and Patrick all came out to say goodbye to the kids before they left. The kid in me wanted to run in front and hug Patrick! He was just too cute!
After the event, my friend Ivica and I, along with her nephew Carlo dropped by Jollibee for a quick bite. Carlo couldn’t resist opening all his awesome gifts! Thank you Nickelodeon! You sure made Carlo a happy kid that day!

The Nickelodeon Summer Festival
The Nickelodeon Summer Festival is a treat for Nicksters before heading back to school. In this event, they can enjoy and celebrate the summer by cooling down with their favorite Nick pals, such as SpongeBob, Dora, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the Winx Club. This year’s summer celebration is inspired by festive colors and the summer sun. Nickelodeon fans will experience adrenaline-pumping games, activities with a different rhythm, the glorious green slime, and they’ll also have chances of winning and bringing home goodies from Nick and sponsors.
