Since 2009, McDonald’s has championed children’s well-being through active play with McHappy Day, a fun run for the entire family. Now on its 6th year, McDonald’s is once again encouraging moms and dads to go out and play with their kids at the 2014 McHappy Day Stripes Run last December 6, Saturday at the Bonifacio Global City.
I always enjoy participating in runs that are unique or with specific themes. Though I personally don’t have any children, nieces or nephews yet, seeing the different families participate in this event really made my day. Though the 10k and 5k runs were a little bit more serious, the 3k and 1k runs were priceless! Parents holding their kids, children pulling their moms, the whole family bonding, it was just priceless.

The fun didn’t end with the run as families were given McDonald’s money which they could use to participate in the different booths. More than just a running event, the McHappy Day Stripes Run was like a school fair for the whole family. There were food booths, game booths and more which allowed the families to play and bond even more before going back to the reality of work.

Face painting booths were also open for kids and adults alike
The balloon twisting station was a big hit for the little kids asking for swords and flowers
The McHappy Day Stripes run was also graced by local celebrity, Lovi Poe. Both male and female runners all took turns taking photos with her. She was nice enough to continuously take photos with fans from the moment shr crossed the finish line and even until she was in the media tent.

Besides the fun and festivities, the top 3 finishers of each category also received a prize while special awards were also given to runners with the best headdress and family costume. Congratulations to the winners!

Congratulations to McDonald’s and Events King for making this a fun-filled family day for all participants. Moreover, thank you to each and every one who registered. As you all know, this run was held for the benefit of the Bahay Bulilit Foundation. Thanks to all of you, 1 million pesos will be donated to the foundation!! Woohoo!!
Ronald McDonald was really cool! Whoever he is, they should hire him again! haha
