Jazzed Up Christmas Stockings

Why spend huge amounts of money to buy the perfect Christmas stocking when the kids can make their own? It may not be as nice to others as a store bought stocking, but I assure you, that personal touch will do wonders! The kids will surely love it more.

What you will need

  • Fabric Glue/ All purpose glue or wood glue
  • Foam shapes/ Sequins and other random stuff to glue unto the stocking
  • Christmas Stocking or plain sock
  • Glitter glue

I did this activity with my 3 year old students and with my 8 year old tutee. The 3 year olds just glued the materials in random places, while my 8 year old tutee created a pattern, and even drew a Christmas tree on one stocking and a teddy bear on the other.

For the younger kids, the teachers had to write their names for them using Glitter Glue. Another option you could do is cut out letters using foam paper and have the kids arrange these to form their names.

A few days after, I had my tutee do the same thing. Her 2 year old brother also joined in! Plus, they made one for their new born baby sister. :)
