Coming from a low income family, August had to work hard to be able to support his daily needs. He starts selling ice from the moment he wakes up; after which he would go to school to make sure he has a brighter tomorrow. Most people would say how this lifestyle would keep them too busy to run, not for August. August would make sure to wake up earlier to be able to squeeze in a short run at midnight.
He eventually joined a 21k run and won! This inspired him to start training, getting stronger and faster on his way to becoming a professional athlete. He never expected to get to where he is today. Now with multiple podium finishes, and being the 2 time Ironman 70.3 Cebu Filipino Elite Champion in 2012 and 2014, August continues to inspire athletes and sports enthusiasts to keep working hard to reach our goals. All you need is some discipline and faith in God.
What’s your running story? We’d love to hear it! Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.
