My First Marshal Experience at Greentennial’s Rescue Run!
by Cheryl Villareal on Dec 31st, 2011
Just 2 weeks ago, Cagayan de Oro and Iligan was hit with a huge typhoon that destroyed several homes and took away thousands of lives. Typhoon Sendong was one of the strongest to ever hit the two places, and they sure weren’t ready for it. In the spirit of bayanihan, everyone else tried to help out by sending donations in cash and kind. Others even experienced going to Mindanao and seeing the damage first hand. For the running comm...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

People of today’s generation have become very comfortable with GPS! In fact, we are so comfortable with it that we have it on almost ALL of our gadgets –in our cars, on our laptops and on our phones! So it’s really no surprise that the watch industry, particularly the sports watches also used this new technology. When Soleus first began back in 2009, they were determined to be a RUNNING WATCH. Soleus Sports Watch: “Giving Runners Everything We Need and Nothing We Don’t!”
by Cheryl Villareal on Dec 5th, 2011
First and foremost, what does Soleus mean? I've heard the term, and I've even seen their team in several fun runs throughout the year, but I've never really thought about the meaning of the word. To me, Soleus was simply a sports watch. Well, for those of you who didn't know, the word soleus is actually a muscle in our body. It is a powerful muscle in the back part of the lower leg (or calf) and runs just below the knee all the way ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Nike We Run Manila 2011
by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 18th, 2011
It's OUR city and we just RAN IT!! Woot woot! Congratulations to all finishers of Nike We Run Manila 2011!!! My friends and I were really excited for this race, we did however already expect the overcrowding runners at the starting line. It was "bumper to bumper" from beginning till the second kilometer! The runners slowly dispersed after that but it was still very crowded! You had to literally dodge slow runners or refrain from getting hit by...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

A Letter of Apology from the ADBR Group
by Cheryl Villareal on Aug 30th, 2011
Mistakes are common. Everyone makes them. Regardless of how big or small the mistake, what makes you a man is the ability to accept these mistake and apologize for them. Many people REFUSE to admit mistake and instead argue, but the Ateneo Blue Diamond Race organizer accepted the mistakes made. In their defense though, several of these mistakes were not their fault. Had it not been for the bad weather, it might have turned out differently. &nb...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

My Results and Experience at the Ateneo Blue Diamond Race
by Cheryl Villareal on Aug 29th, 2011
Sometime last June, I heard about the Ateneo Blue Diamond Race. I didn't bother registering though 'coz it was still dated at the end of August and I was still waiting to see what other races would be held on the same date. However, sometime last July, a friend of mine insisted BADLY that we register for this run. She is not from Ateneo but is a HUGE fan of the school. She begged us to register and run with her on that date. So regardless of my b...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Thoughts and Result of the RunRio Trilogy Leg 1 for 2011
by Cheryl Villareal on Mar 9th, 2011
Months before the race started, I was already feeling very eager and excited. Last year, I joined all 3 legs of the RunRio trilogy, and this year, I hope to achieve the same. I convinced my friends Jessica and Mon to join me and my fiance Philippe in the run. They were hesitant at first because of the price, but I convinced them Rio organized races were well worth it! They finally gave in and registered. I'm sure they did not regret it. :) The...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Results of My Greentennial Run
by Cheryl Villareal on Jan 24th, 2011
Last September (I think)... I registered for the Greentennial Run, simply because it was organized by La Salle, and the fee was way cheaper since it was still early.I was eagerly waiting for the run, though it was still months away. - Finally, 2011 rolled in... and there were just a few weeks before my first run for the year, the Greentennial Run. On the week itself however, there was a change of plans and I almost didn't make it to the run! ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )
