Outbreak BGC 2: Confessions of the Zombie Lady
by Cheryl Villareal on Apr 27th, 2013
I have been joining the Outbreak ever since its first run in Nuvali last year. I’ve experienced running away from zombies, and I’ve experience just walking around as part of the media team. This time however, I was given the opportunity to see things from a different end, or should I say, from a different life. I always had fun seeing the different zombies during the runs. When I joined the first time, I remember coming up with diffe...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Condura Skyway Marathon 2013 Results and Discussions: I Conquered the Skyway
by Cheryl Villareal on Feb 5th, 2013
Last Sunday, Feb 3, 2013, I ran my 2nd Condura Skyway Marathon, it was my first however to start from Alabang and run on the Skyway! Woot woot! What an experience!! I joined the Condura Skyway Marathon for the first time around 3 or 4 years ago. I wasn’t use to running yet and so I only registered for the 5k category. Back then, I felt like there was nothing really special about the run, especially since the 5k runners didn’t really get ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Thousands of Runners Begin Their Colorful Year with Smart’s Live More Run
by Cheryl Villareal on Jan 27th, 2013
Last January 19, Smart set the standard for fun at the Live More Run in Nuvali, Sta. Rosa Laguna. Around four thousand participants were showered with colorful blasts of powder as they ran the happiest 5k route ever. I was very much looking forward to joining this run, I was unfortunately not able to make it. It really makes me sad and so I really hope that Smart will stage another run like this in the future!...maybe one closer to Manila...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Run for 10: A Successful Run for Education
by Cheryl Villareal on Jan 14th, 2013
I had the privilege to be part of yesterday’s event dubbed Run for 10 from Ten Moves. I didn’t really understand the huge impact this run and this group had until I saw it for myself. Somehow, the ten moves run, more than any other run for a cause really made me feel like my presence made that much of a difference. There were no recorded times, no top finishers, no contests… because the winners today were not the runners, but the children w...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

1K @ Amway Fun Run Kicks Off 2013
by Clarissa Almeida on Jan 14th, 2013
It’s been a nice experience at the recently concluded [email protected] Fun Run 2013 at CCP Complex last January 12, 2013. The weather was just fine that we were able to start and finish the race safe and warm. Groups of runners, families, and friends gathered at the assembly area waiting for the gun start, and they were excited just as I am for our first run of the year. Approachable staffs and race organizers were seen helping out some runners for t...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

I Ran Like A Girl at the Triple D Down and Dirty Dash
by Cheryl Villareal on Dec 5th, 2012
When I first heard about the mud run for girls, I felt very excited and knew that I wanted to join at least for the experience. I imagined a run similar to those with obstacles, but instead of various obstacles, there would be a muddy path somewhere along the route. That’s the picture I had in mind. I imagined a small “pig pen like” mud hole that runners would have to go through. First Impressions Come race day, I headed over to...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Fun at Michelle Estuar’s FUNd Raising Ultralympics
by Cheryl Villareal on Dec 3rd, 2012
For the past 2 years, elite runner and college teacher Michelle Estuar has celebrated her birthday by giving back to the running community in a FUN’d RAISING event dubbed ULTRAlympics. Don’t worry though, ‘coz the ULTRA there doesn’t stand for ULTRAmarathon, it simple stands for ULTRA Coliseum or what’s now known as the Philsports Arena. Last Friday, Nov. 30, Michelle celebrated her birthday with the running community for the 2...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Moved by Runners at Tetra Pak RFR
by Cheryl Villareal on Nov 18th, 2012
After a tiring week at work, school and blogging, I was looking forward to a good ol' 10k run to reenergize me. Thing is, i didn't have enough energy to get up in the first place and missed the gun start for the 10k runners. I know you're probably thinking that it's not a big deal and i still could've run, to me however, it IS a big deal, especially since i was running alone. I wasn't confident enough to think i could catch up with the other runn...Read More » Tags Share Comments (7 )

Congratulations to the Winners of the Nike We Run Manila Race Kits
by Cheryl Villareal on Nov 17th, 2012
Hey guys, really sorry for the delay, but finally, I have the list of winners! Thanks to Ogilvy Production and Nike for selecting the best of the best, you guys deserve it! Runner: Marquis Albert Minlay “What inspires me to run is the feeling I get after I cross the finish line. That after all the time and determination I put in training, it paid off and I outdid myself. That after all those naysayers said I can’t, I ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )
