My 10KM Training Run with the Eat.Pray.Run Team
by Cheryl Villareal on May 20th, 2011
After 3 years of joining fun runs and running in the 5km category for more than 20 times, and only twice running in the 10km category, I finally decided it was time to move forward! I've had so much fun joining fun runs and my goal progressed from just wanting to finish a race to beating my personal record of 30min for 5km. For the past 3 years, I've only had time to run during Sunday fun runs and had no training whatsoever. This summer, I wanted...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Do I take the extra job? Do I confront the man of my dreams today? Shheesh, when does it stop? We have so many decisions t...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

The Xavier Community Presents: Stallion Run
by Cheryl Villareal on May 6th, 2011
Lately, I've seen several private schools organizing their own fun runs. However, I think this is the first school run (excluding college / university fun runs) I've seen which will have a half-marathon! I'm not sure if other schools have done it, but kudos if you have! This is definitely a great way to get the students back outside and away from TOO much technology! - On their 55th anniversary, The Xavier community invites everyone to jo...Read More » Tags Share Comments (3 )

Get Ready for The Greentennial Half Marathon
by Cheryl Villareal on Apr 23rd, 2011
Last January, I joined the 1st Greentennial Run with a friend. For a new name in the running world, Greentennial sure did not disappoint me. It was a clean run with lots of activities to do afterward! Because of the success of this run, several runners asked if they could organize another run, and so they did. But just before they finished it, the tragedies in Japan happened which led them to organize a run for the benefit of the victi...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Greentennial Run for Japan – because we care!
by Cheryl Villareal on Apr 23rd, 2011
Just a month ago, Japan was hit with 3 calamities all in a few days time. First it was an 8.9 magnitude quake that rocked the country, and then it was followed by a massive tsunami that washed away hundreds and thousands of homes and buildings leaving several homeless, and if that wasn't enough, the nuclear reactors put each of their healths at stake as one after the other started to melt down. Truly, being in these situations and still surviving...Read More » Tags Share Comments (2 )

Make Dreams Come True with “Eat, Pray, Run”
by Cheryl Villareal on Apr 19th, 2011
While browsing my Facebook page one day, I noticed a photo wherein one of my friends was tagged. It was a photo of a little stick man drawn in the simplest form possible in black and white but with eyes shaped like a heart and in the color red. I wondered what it was and so I followed the link, that's when I came across the three words, "Eat, Pray, Run" - Strong words. I started analyzing the way I go by my everyday stuff. Eat (How coul...Read More » Tags Share Comments (4 )

Swim Bike Run 101: A Multisport Lecture Series
by Cheryl Villareal on Apr 16th, 2011
Exactly what is MULTISPORT? Well the word explains itself. Multi sport, multiple sports. Being an amateur runner, I never even thought of the term. Could you imagine that? I often hear the term because of the magazine with the same title, but I never really gave more thought to it until recently. - Early this week, I was invited to an event by sponsored by Multisport entitled 101 SWIM, BIKE, RUN. I was hesitant at first as I imagined triath...Read More » Tags Share Comments (632 )
