by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 30th, 2013
The 1st CM will usher in a new level of challenge in the running scene. With a total distance of 42.195km, the event is designed to be the common ground of marathoners, ultra-runners and triathletes. Participation in the 1st CM will be reserved for 88 seasoned marathoners only, with a set qualifying time. Because the half-marathon course of Corregidor could be viewed from the top as forming an “8”-shaped loop, runners must race through the...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Corregidor International Half Marathon on December 8, 2013
by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 29th, 2013
They say that you haven’t actually run unless you’ve run the Corregidor International Half Marathon (CIHM). With it’s super challenging route, anyone who has completed it will surely feel indestructible. The philosopher George Santayana once stated, “Those who do not know history are condemned to repeat it.” But if history is comprised of all your winning and most memorable moments, you will most likely come back for it. On Decemb...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Run United Philippine Marathon Will Make 42k Runners Feel Like Superstars!
by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 29th, 2013
The Run United Series started way back in 2010. Back then, Unilab was only planning to have one run. However, because of its huge success, they continued on to a series which led to the now famous Run United Philippine Marathon! This year, people got so excited that slots run out after only a few weeks of opening registration. I actually ran out of slots myself as it took me too long to decide whether I wanted to go for a full marath...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

St. Peter Midnight Run 2013 on Oct. 31, 2013
by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 23rd, 2013
Once a year, adults are given a free pass to act like kids again and play dress up! I wouldn’t mind playing dress up everyday… but then again, people might think I’m weird! haha. St. Peter Life Plan had their first run back in 2010 which I am proud to have been part of. That time, races were priced at 500 and up while St. Peter priced theirs at 50 pesos! Being so inexpensive, I expected the worst but was happy to have been wrong. Come 2011,...Read More » Tags Share Comments (3 )

New Balance Power Run–10k, 16k and 25k on November 10, 2013
by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 18th, 2013
I have always looked forward to the New Balance Power Run for several reasons, my top reason however being its 25k category! I’ve ran several 21km races, and the 25k run just makes me test my endurance a tiny bit. It pushes me to go a little further without going overboard. The same goes for the 16k. Before I moved up to 21km runs, I tried joining the 16km run first. Proper training is still very important, but the feeling of accomplishment for...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Run for the Mangroves on October 19: Fun Run of the Consular Corps of the Philippines
by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 12th, 2013
Lately, I’ve been hearing a lot of fun runs or events that are organized for the benefit of the mangroves. Magroves are various types of trees and shrubs that basically grow along the coast. The Philippines is rich with them… at least we used to be. The mangrove forest in our country does not only beautify the Philippines, but it also serves as a home to many of our beloved animals. Unfortunately, according to mangroveactionproject.org, about...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

I Run For Life 2013 Race Results and Discussions
by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 11th, 2013
A few weeks before race date, our school directress informed me of an upcoming run called I Run for Life which as organized for the benefit of children with Leukemia. I’m a sucker for runs especially if it’s for a good cause so I immediately searched the internet for more information on the run. Despite typing all the necessary keywords, I couldn’t seem to find any information on this run. After several attempts, I finally came across their...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Safeguard 2XU Run Race Results and Experiences
by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 9th, 2013
I first heard of the Safeguard 2XU Run early this year. It sounded very promising and the freebies were enticing. Some people thought that the registration fee was too high, but personally, I thought the fee was just right, given the amount of freebies. I mean, just the 2xu calf guards were already enough! Moreover, it’s a RunRio organized race. I no longer question Rio’s expertise in the field of running. If he organized it, it’s bound to ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )
