by Cheryl Villareal on Nov 1st, 2013
When I was a kid, all I knew in this world was to PLAY! Don't get me wrong, as a teacher, I can fully defend why how big a role "play" has in a child's life and I'm glad my parents allowed me to learn through play. But the IronKids took play to a whole new level! If they can do all that NOW, what more in a few more years! These "mini" triathletes are gonna rock our world! Close to 200 kids from ages 6 to 14 participated at the Alaska...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

St. Peter Midnight Run 2013 on Oct. 31, 2013
by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 23rd, 2013
Once a year, adults are given a free pass to act like kids again and play dress up! I wouldn’t mind playing dress up everyday… but then again, people might think I’m weird! haha. St. Peter Life Plan had their first run back in 2010 which I am proud to have been part of. That time, races were priced at 500 and up while St. Peter priced theirs at 50 pesos! Being so inexpensive, I expected the worst but was happy to have been wrong. Come 2011,...Read More » Tags Share Comments (3 )

I Run for Life: A Run for Children with Leukemia
by Cheryl Villareal on Aug 24th, 2013
It’s always fun to run for a cause, especially when it’s for those who need our help the most. They say we should use whatever gifts we have to help others. Well, God gave me legs to walk and run, I think I should use them. What about you? I Run For Life 2013 is a project of JCI Manila to help fund for the treatment of leukemic children under the care of the LIFE Foundation. Full treatment of leukemia is available but costs around P440,000...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Battle of the Sexes Leg 2 by Sofitel and RunRio
by Cheryl Villareal on Jul 25th, 2013
Since the dawn of time, men and women have always loved competing to find out who’s better in doing a variety of tasks. Who’s better in cooking, who’s better in driving, who can party harder, etc. Though this blog might not be able to answer all these questions, it can at least answer one, “Who’s the faster runner? In last year’s Battle of the Sexes, the men outrun the women! Truth is, the girls just didn’t want to bust the...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Alaska World Milk Day Run on June 9, 2013
by Cheryl Villareal on May 13th, 2013
Got milk? Ever since we were young, our parents have already taught us the importance of milk, but as we grow up, we tend to neglect this need. The worse part about this that even kids are beginning to dislike milk, and we all know how growing kids need milk. Nutrition disorders such as malnutrition and obesity are particularly rampant with children. They interfere with the child’s grown and development which could lead to serious heal...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Robinson’s Fit and Fun Buddy Run 2013
by Cheryl Villareal on May 3rd, 2013
There are two reasons I always join the Robinson's Fit and Fun Buddy Run.... ONE is the opportunity to run with a partner! In my case, it's with my fiance Philippe. He doesn't exactly enjoy running, he's much more into boxing but he always agrees to join this run with me. Personally, I feel that the Fit and Fun Buddy Run doesn't feel competitive, it emphasizes more on the importance of camaraderie. My 2nd reason for never missing this run, is t...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )
