Funky Sunglasses for Summer
by Cheryl Villareal on Jul 9th, 2011
Everyone, especially the kids, loves a good pair of sunglasses! Kids especially love trying them on regardless of the size or color! Hand them some shades and they'll wear them one by one! So if ordinary shades already work wonders for them, imagine how much more exciting it would be for them to create and design their own. What you will need Cardboard/Folder Celophane Sequins Paint Glue - What to do Step 1: Trac...Read More » Tags Share Comments (2 )

Barefoot Running, Running in the Rain… Let’s get it ON!
by Cheryl Villareal on Jun 25th, 2011
I love to run though I didn't always. In fact, I just joined fun runs because I felt that it would at least give me a little exercise and help me stay healthy. But just this summer, I began making it a habit and tried running at least 3 times every week! It's a lot of fun when you have friends to join you, and I thank my friend Ivica Say for always running with me regardless of our busy work schedules! - They say running shoes are meant to ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (2 )

Giant Squids and Jellyfishes
by Cheryl Villareal on Jun 23rd, 2011
When working with little kids, you always want to go BIG! Not only is it easier for them because their fine motor skills aren't developed yet, but they are also very much amazed by it! At times, they couldn't even believe they're the one who made it! I always love that kind of reaction from the kids! - We intentionally wanted to make squids, but it's hard to limit the kids and tell them to just place 8 tentacles, so we just let them be and ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Register for your Next Run Hassle Free with Runners’ Runner
by Cheryl Villareal on Jun 19th, 2011
Every week there's a fun run somewhere in the Philippines. Almost every other week, there's a big event or big marathon that all runners look forward to. Every runner wants to register for a race or two every month, but not every runner lives near Fort Bonifacio or other registration outlets. I remember having to pass by a mall or R.O.X. almost every other week because I wanted to register for a good run. It was out of my way, but I had to go bef...Read More » Tags Share Comments (2 )

Big Art with Water Pistols and Spray Bottles
by Cheryl Villareal on Jun 18th, 2011
I always love using things found around the house when doing art activities. The kids always look surprise when I hand it to them and tell them to play with it. It's as if they're thinking, "Mommy's gonna get mad!".... "Are you sure?" - For this activity, I decided to make use of sponges, water pistols, spray bottles, roller brushes and scrubs! Whatever I saw lying around... I used! And the kids had so much fun using them too! - What ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (3 )

Digging for Gummy Worms!
by Cheryl Villareal on Jun 16th, 2011
Worms are often a child's favorite play thing and an adult's worst nightmare! I remember playing with worms and caterpillars myself when I was younger...but now that I'm all grown up, I can't even imagine touching one! However, as a preschool teacher... I think this is one of the fears we have to overcome! - As long as none of my children ask for it or we don't into such a situation, I'd rather not play with worms! (haha) But I wouldn't wan...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Run on the Rugged Side at the Merrel Adventure Run
by Cheryl Villareal on Jun 8th, 2011
REGISTRATION EXTENDED!!! REGISTRATION EXTENDED!!! - Are you man I've been running for a while and one thing I look forward to when joining fun runs is the venue. Just like a lot of my friends, we are curious to try new running venues just for the thrill of it. However, regardless if the run is set in Bonifacio Global City, Mall of Asia, Luneta or the like, they're all still the same. The view and route varies but the running conditions a...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Sand Bottles with Rock Salt
by Cheryl Villareal on Jun 7th, 2011
I'm sure most of you have already seen sand bottles whenever you go to the beach or just randomly displayed in houses or restaurants. I've been very fond of these since I was young and have always been curious how they were made. As I grew older, I also slowly realized how it wasn't so difficult to make after all. - Now that I knew how to make it, it was time to let the kiddos try it out! The thing is, I didn't have enough sand! The sand I ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (2 )

My first REAL 10km run at AKTV Fun Run
by Cheryl Villareal on Jun 6th, 2011
A lot of the runners or followers I meet automatically assume that since I'm a blogger, I must also run half or full marathons. I am often greeted with shocked reactions when I tell them the farthest distance I've gone is only 10km. What's worse is that I've only done the 10km twice and never again because I was afraid to fail! It's true that I've been running for a LONG time, but I never found the courage to step out of my comfort zone until rec...Read More » Tags Share Comments (2 )
