The Blue Boat in the Blue Ocean
by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 16th, 2011
When thinking of an art activity for kids, you have to stick with the things they love and are familiar with, and take advantage of that. In our toddler class, most of our kids love cars, trains, boats and airplanes! -- which is why we decided to include modes of transportation as one of our themes for this year. However, even before we get to that theme, we already tackled a few of these for a different topic. - While on our lesson on the ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Our Self-made Cardboard Playhouse
by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 8th, 2011
Whenever I see old boxes coming from soaps, shoes, gifts or the like, I often want to keep it in hopes of finding a purpose for it in the near future. I’m guessing most preschool teachers agree with me too! We like to keep all sorts of stuff, especially boxes! Regardless of how small or BIG the box may be, we just want to keep it because we feel throwing it away will make us regret it in the future. - Just a few weeks ago, on our unit o...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

I've always love all sorts of cats, and I've been a big fan of the laziest cat in the world since I was young. Yep, I'm in love with Garfield! I've read his comics, I've watched his cartoons... and even have a bunch of Garfield printed clothes and things at home! So imagine my excitement when I found out Garfield would join the bandwagon and host his own fun run? Woot woot! - Garfield Apparel believes in the importance...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Sponge Stamping with Shades of Blue
by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 2nd, 2011
Last year, we let the kids do some SPONGE PAINTING as a extension on our lesson about squares. The kids had so much fun playing with the sponges because of their unique texture but the teachers also had to be careful not to give the kids too much paint because they tended to let the sponge absorb too much and squeeze out ALL the paint. As fun as this may be, we weren't prepared for a messy activity that day. So instead of just lettin...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Operation Smiles Presents “THE 500 SMILE RUN”
by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 25th, 2011
"When you create smiles, you change lives, and you heal humanity." This is what Operation Smile believes, and I have to strongly agree with them too. - A month ago, I wrote a blog about MILES FOR SMILES. This run was for the benefit of children with cleft problems. The run was successfully held last week and though I registered to run, I unfortunately DID NOT WAKE UP! I was really sad and down but just thought to myself, at least my registr...Read More » Tags Share Comments (2 )

Boudoir Dolls Photography: Personal Sessions by Women for Women
by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 23rd, 2011
Define sexy... Merriam Webster would define it as being generally attractive or interesting... but exactly WHAT does that mean? In today's generation, I'm guessing around 75% to 80% would tell you that being sexy meant being really thin and skinny but with a huge chest and a full bottom. Which is why I can't exactly blame the thousands of teenage girls (and adults) today who do nothing but DIET. They hardly eat anything that their bones are alrea...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 19th, 2011
The blogging world is quickly taking over! No longer do business need to pay high prices for ads on paper or on billboards because BLOGGERS are doing all the work. If Starbucks became big through word of mouth, then businesses existing today will have great chances of succeeding through word of the blog! - Last September 17, my brother Vince Golangco of WhenInManila.com had his FIRST ever BLOGAPALOOZA - an event for both businesses and ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (2 )

by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 18th, 2011
Everyone wants that PERFECT body. Some have time to go to the gym and work out, but others just don't have enough time. I myself have always wanted to visit the gym but I just can't find the time to do so. Running has been the perfect exercise for me, but I only have time to run 5-10km at least twice a week. If only there was a way to work out while in the office or on the go.... - Well, who says there isn't? - Last Sept. 15, Reebok l...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Inauguration of PCF Technical College – The first CONTAINER-VAN school in the world!
by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 13th, 2011
Around 2 weeks ago, I was invited to visit a school located in what used to be the famous SMOKEY MOUNTAINS of Tondo. The term does not refer to a beautiful landscape as that depicted in other countries, instead, the name was given because of the smoking mountains of garbage found in the area. This place has recently been rehabilitated and is hopefully on its way to becoming a more livable place for people. - I was hesitant at first, given i...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )
