Lost and Found DSLR!
by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 21st, 2010
So it's a Tuesday night, and I was coming from somewhere in Sta. Mesa on my way to the Blue Water Day Spa bloggers' night. I was frantically in a hurry 'coz I was running really late and I know the traffic in Makati is really bad by this time. (Around 7pm) I originally intended to stay home and rest but changed my mind at the last minute...(I think this was my "destiny" haha) . I entered the cab and told the driver where to take me. I was s...Read More » Tags Share Comments (12 )

Handprint Paperweight
by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 20th, 2010
What can your hands do? My hands can clap! My hands can roll! My hands can shake! My hands can tap! This was basically how we started our topic on hands! There were even kids who started saying that their hands can WALK. This led us to start trying a variety of nonsense things. We tried walking with our hands; we tried feeding our hands; we tried looking with our hands and more! The kids had so much fun acting silly, trying to let their hands do ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 19th, 2010
Have you visited Superkids 2010? I visited the bazaar this morning, it was a little bit smaller than expected but it still had a lot of interactive activities for the kids. There were several shows which I unfortunately was not able to catch. The Superkids 2010 was set on the same date and venue as the 31st international book fair. Today is the last day of Superkids , but lucky for you, the book fair still has one more day to go! Go cat...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Looking through colors
by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 17th, 2010
Just recently, I shared a post on binoculars for the kids! This turned out to be a very successful activity! The kids not only enjoyed playing with it, but they also had fun making it! This reminded me of an activity I did last year which I called Looking Through Colors. The materials are teacher-made, and the kids really look forward to using and playing with it. What you will need: Old cardboard or folders cellophane paper P...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Name Recognition: Learning to Read Part 2
by Cheryl Villareal on Sep 16th, 2010
Check out Name Recognition Part 1 in case you haven't seen it! As mentioned in Part 1, we sing the song "Hello, hello, hello" daily to let the kids practice saying their names! Another tip I can share with you is to LABEL everything! At the beginning, we labeled their cubbyholes, tables and chairs with their pictures. After a month, we added their name to the picture. After another month or two, we removed the picture and all that was left wer...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )
