We all need shoes... and from this need, our wants grow! Wanting to have new and cute shoes... wanting to give our kids new and cute shoes too! But, since the kids grow up so quickly, these shoes also quickly shrink! (Yes, the shoes shrink!..kiddin' of course) So what do we do with these shoes? Give them away or throw them in the garbage! Sock Puppets
by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 12th, 2010
Making puppets or at least seeing puppets is one experience every preschooler should go through! Besides the activity's connection to our current lesson on feet, it was also a good way to help those kids who feared puppets. Puppets can be anything you want them to be... animals, community helpers, family members or the students themselves! It's really easy to connect with whatever lesson you have. Since we are still learning a lot about our se...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Let’s Walk Barefooted
by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 10th, 2010
What can your feet do? I can use my feet to walk, run and jump! But did you know your feet can also feel things? We asked the children to bring a pair of slippers for our week's topic about the feet! Instead of wearing shoes to school, they wore their slippers. And after a short discussion about the feet, it was time to take them for a SENSORY WALK. Now, this could have been a lot more fun outdoors, unfortunately, the school I work at does n...Read More » Tags Share Comments (2 )

Honor and Excellence!
by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 9th, 2010
Professor Solita Monsod delivers her last lecture for her class in UP Diliman, Philippines. She delivered a very beautiful speech! Thank you to the person who took the video! Now we can share it with the whole world! "I am only one but I am one, I cannot do everything but I can do something!" Let us keep these words in mind whenever we feel that our small actions will not change anything, because it does and we can make a difference. Just s...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Hot Potato
by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 9th, 2010
While on the topic of hands, we also learned about hot and cold objects! What a perfect opportunity to cook with the kids! We wanted them to be able to see how cooking can soften up something and so we decided to make some Mashed Potatoes! To start off, we danced to the song HOT POTATO by the Wiggles! My students last year loved this song, and so did the kids this year! We played it more than 10 times during free play the following day due to ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Box Kicking Art
by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 7th, 2010
Toddlers are still learning the different skills their body can perform. Jumping, walking, running are some of the activities that they are still learning to perfect. Throwing objects is part of these skills, and so is kicking things. To adults, kicking is just like walking with force! It's a very simple task for us, but for these kids, kicking means letting loose of what foot and making sure the other foot is able to keep balance! Here's anot...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 6th, 2010
After a night out with my friends, I got up early on a Saturday morning to head to the Expo Kid II at Rockwell. The event was jam-packed and I honestly wanted to attend all the workshops but knew it wasn't possible due to my tight schedule. So while I was busy deciding, my best friend Patricia suddenly comes up to me and tells me to accompany her to an event. When asked what event, she answered Expo Kid II. Turns out, her student will be leading ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )
