by Cheryl Villareal on Nov 21st, 2010
When was the last time you held a newspaper and actually read it? I can't remember! Nowadays, if I want to know what's new, I'd check out the internet. So what chance does the newspaper business have in this age and time? Well, Manila Bulletin just came up with a plan that might just put them back on track... a 3D Newspaper! I'm pretty sure all if not most of you have seen 3D movies. Almost all the movies coming out now already have a 3D versi...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

First Snip: Learning to Cut
by Cheryl Villareal on Nov 19th, 2010
Cutting is an essential skill that each of us needs to learn during our early years. It may be scary at first, but it's easy to get the hang of it. - Children love playing with things they are not supposed to play with. They love touching things they are not supposed to touch. So when we tell them NOT to play with scissors, obviously, we just triggered their curiosity. They do not yet realize that scissors can hurt if not used properly, hen...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Paperplate Watermelons
by Cheryl Villareal on Nov 17th, 2010
Here's a cool activity my co-teacher, Sandra Ong shared with me. We took some pictures of the final product but none of it in the making. So let me try my best to put it into words! What you need Watermelon seeds ( "Butong Pakwan" as we call it in the Philippines) Paper Plate Red and Green paint Glue . Step 1: Give the kids the paper plates and let them paint it green and red (you can also already mix the paint with the glue) ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

SM MOA presents Passport to the Universe
by Cheryl Villareal on Nov 14th, 2010
Wouldn't it be great if we could all travel the universe? Wouldn't it be great if we could see a star up close? Well now you can! Last November 6, 2010, I was one of the lucky bloggers who was able to view the sneak peek of SM Mall of Asia's Science Discovery Center's newest feature show, PASSPORT TO THE UNIVERSE. This film was made in the US and narrated by Tom Hanks. This was not any ordinary show, simply because it is shown inside the 15...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Anson’s Rhythm and Run Recap
by Cheryl Villareal on Nov 14th, 2010
This morning, I was one of those runners who joined Anson's Rhythm and Run at McKinley Hill. It was my first time to run at McKinley Hill and boy was that tiring! But to sum it all up, I think it was a good clean race. There were enough drinking stations along the 5k route, not so sure though about other distances. The race also started on time, the place wasn't too crowded and the hosts (boys night out of magic 89.9) really helped get the party ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Triangles on a Triangle Hat
by Cheryl Villareal on Nov 13th, 2010
It's always fun to work with collages when we're studying a certain concept. A collage of shapes, collage of numbers and other things that we can think of. However, it can also get boring if we just keep doing the collage over and over again without adding any twists. So for our lesson on triangles, we decided to make a triangle hat! I honestly thought at first that it wasn't going to be a cute activity. I thought it was too simple. But that d...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Animal Noses Finger Puppets
by Cheryl Villareal on Nov 11th, 2010
This is an activity I found on another blog site once again. I unfortunately saw it a long time ago and no longer remember what site it was! Send a reply if you think this came from your site and I would gladly acknowledge you. Children usually enjoy pretend play. Younger children still find it difficult but they still enjoy the funny games and cute toys used. Since we were learning all about our noses, we decided to let them try making their ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Sweet Paint with Powdered Juice
by Cheryl Villareal on Nov 8th, 2010
Children, regardless of the age, love painting! Their paintings vary from shapes, to everyday objects, or even just abstract art! As long as there's a paintbrush in hand, you can only expect a masterpiece to follow! However, as much as we want them to have all the fun possible, paint can be difficult to wash of at times and also not good to eat! Toddlers would put ANYTHING in their mouths and this is one of those things we never want them to tast...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )
