Group Buying Websites in the Philippines
by Cheryl Villareal on Feb 9th, 2011
Just recently, I discovered the joys of group buying websites! I think I am slowly getting addicted to it! - As most of us know, we can easily avail items at cheaper prices when we buy in bulk. This is just how it works in the group buying websites. No, you do not need to buy as a group. Unintentionally, you are already buying with a group of people you don't really know. United we stand, divided we fall! If you haven't tried visiting these...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Much Fun at the Condura Skyway Marathon
by Cheryl Villareal on Feb 8th, 2011
I didn't use to be addicted to running, so I always missed the Condura marathon. Thankfully, I made it this year! - I waited all year last 2010 for the next Condura run. I heard it was good, plus I wanted to help save the dolphins. Finally, registration began and I immediately rushed to the nearest registration center to sign up. I was really looking forward to this run that I even told myself, I was going to beat my PR! Days before the rac...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Family Tree in Preschool
by Cheryl Villareal on Feb 7th, 2011
When learning about our families, the family tree is one lesson or activity that we just couldn't miss out on. A family tree making activity can be done for all ages, from preschool to high school. It is one activity that would simply differ in the process it is made. So for my toddler class, what's the best way for the kids to make it? - My partner and I were discussing how we were to let the children make their family trees. Should we ask...Read More » Tags Share Comments (3 )

Draw a Family Portrait
by Cheryl Villareal on Feb 3rd, 2011
This January, we are learning all about our families. So after telling the kids a story about families, we decided to let them draw their own. - Children's drawings are more important than most think. To some, their drawings might just look like random scribbles, to others, they might just look like normal drawings of a 3 year old child, but what most fail to realize is how the tiniest bit of detail is already a window to the child's feelin...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Feverish Run at the SJCS Run for Fun Race for Place
by Cheryl Villareal on Jan 30th, 2011
After weeks of telling everyone that I was not joining my Alma mater's first run, I decided during the last minute to show some support and register. My co-teacher and fellow Judenite, Jessica decided to join me as well. So since it was a last minute decision, and the last day of registration... singlet sizes had already ran out. We usually get small but ended up with a medium, it usually doesn't matter but the singlet was really too big for us. ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Plastic Cup Decor
by Cheryl Villareal on Jan 27th, 2011
Tissue cores, styro balls, empty boxes, egg cartons and plastic cup are just a few of the the many best friends of a preschool teacher. There are just so many things we can do with them! The art activities and fun games are limitless! - During the beginning of classes, our school nurse who also happened to be a high school friend of mine began asking me for some plastic cups and colored tissue paper/crepe paper. I gave her a few without ask...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Results of My Greentennial Run
by Cheryl Villareal on Jan 24th, 2011
Last September (I think)... I registered for the Greentennial Run, simply because it was organized by La Salle, and the fee was way cheaper since it was still early.I was eagerly waiting for the run, though it was still months away. - Finally, 2011 rolled in... and there were just a few weeks before my first run for the year, the Greentennial Run. On the week itself however, there was a change of plans and I almost didn't make it to the run! ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Paper Tearing Orange
by Cheryl Villareal on Jan 21st, 2011
Though not most people know it, paper tearing is actually an important skill toddlers need to learn. It is through this that they eventually learn to cut, write and draw. For our lesson on the color orange, we decided to let the kids try some paper tearing as well. We did not realize it immediately, but it turned out that several of our kids still did not know how to tear paper. Most of them still needed us to help them hold the paper as they ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (2 )

Fruit and Vegetable Stamping
by Cheryl Villareal on Jan 18th, 2011
I don't think it's right to play with food and put it to waste. But if playing with it means the kids get to go through a unique learning experience, then I don't think it was wasted at all. After having our fun making fruit kebab and vegetable salads, it was time to use the leftover fruits and vegetables for some art! This stamping activity is so easy to do that you can just leave the kids to do it as they please! Be sure to select fruits ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Have you ever tried giving your cat a belly rub? Some cats enjoy it... though some cats would take your hand and you'd never get it back! (haha) Anyway, you guys know that glove-thing we use to remove all the fur falling off from our cats? Well, I decided to try it on my cat, Chase's tummy! I'm not sure if he's enjoying it or not, but you gotta love his reaction! It's like a cat porno! hahaha Wait for it! - - Gotta love the reaction! ha...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )
