Life of a Preschooler – Last Day of School Activity
by Cheryl Villareal on May 2nd, 2011
When the last day of school rolled in, my co-teachers and I tried to think of something fun the kids could do to commemorate their first year in preschool! I thought of so many wonderful ideas, only, they required a pre-activity which the child should have done at the beginning of the school year! :( Now what? I almost gave up and resorted to just letting the kids draw something about school, when on the very last minute, we decided to funk up th...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

My Fun but Not-So-Successful First Event
by Cheryl Villareal on Apr 28th, 2011
It was my first event ever! My first time to invite supporters and followers and my way of saying thank you to everyone who has supported my blog. Now, what exactly was I to do? - Last Wednesday, April 27 was the first Groovy Wednesday at Blue Water Day Spa. I honestly didn't think I would be there alone. I figured there would be other hosts to assist me as I myself have never been here. I was nervous. Not only because I realized I had to h...Read More » Tags Share Comments (4 )

Painting with Floor Scrubs!
by Cheryl Villareal on Apr 27th, 2011
Let's do some spring cleaning shall we? But instead of using water and soap, why not paint instead? A couple months ago, I passed by a shop wherein all items were sold for just 20 php (around 50 cents). Now as a preschool teacher, I just couldn't resist the urge to take a peek and dig through these items in hopes of finding something I could use for school! One of the items I came across were floor scrubs. I often see these sold in the groceri...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Get Ready for The Greentennial Half Marathon
by Cheryl Villareal on Apr 23rd, 2011
Last January, I joined the 1st Greentennial Run with a friend. For a new name in the running world, Greentennial sure did not disappoint me. It was a clean run with lots of activities to do afterward! Because of the success of this run, several runners asked if they could organize another run, and so they did. But just before they finished it, the tragedies in Japan happened which led them to organize a run for the benefit of the victi...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Greentennial Run for Japan – because we care!
by Cheryl Villareal on Apr 23rd, 2011
Just a month ago, Japan was hit with 3 calamities all in a few days time. First it was an 8.9 magnitude quake that rocked the country, and then it was followed by a massive tsunami that washed away hundreds and thousands of homes and buildings leaving several homeless, and if that wasn't enough, the nuclear reactors put each of their healths at stake as one after the other started to melt down. Truly, being in these situations and still surviving...Read More » Tags Share Comments (2 )

Egg-shaped Chalks for Easter
by Cheryl Villareal on Apr 21st, 2011
As a kid, I always had so much fun drawing on pavement. I don't know why but it's probably because of the unique texture of the pavement and the excitement of writing and drawing on something else other than paper. I also liked the chalk itself because of the same reason --> drawing and coloring using something else other than pencils and crayons. - While browsing for some unique activities for the Easter season, I came across this egg-s...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Make Dreams Come True with “Eat, Pray, Run”
by Cheryl Villareal on Apr 19th, 2011
While browsing my Facebook page one day, I noticed a photo wherein one of my friends was tagged. It was a photo of a little stick man drawn in the simplest form possible in black and white but with eyes shaped like a heart and in the color red. I wondered what it was and so I followed the link, that's when I came across the three words, "Eat, Pray, Run" - Strong words. I started analyzing the way I go by my everyday stuff. Eat (How coul...Read More » Tags Share Comments (4 )

Painting Eggs with Food Coloring for Easter
by Cheryl Villareal on Apr 17th, 2011
Easter is coming up in just a few days! I remember looking forward to this day because of the Easter Egg hunts! This week in class however, we let the kids try making their own egg salads (in line with our theme on food) and decorating their own eggs using food coloring! The activity turned out REALLY REALLY messy, but REALLY REALLY fun! Did I mention I ABSOLUTELY LOVE messy arts?? I feel these kinds of art activities are the ones that really giv...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )
