Sand Bottles with Rock Salt
by Cheryl Villareal on Jun 7th, 2011
I'm sure most of you have already seen sand bottles whenever you go to the beach or just randomly displayed in houses or restaurants. I've been very fond of these since I was young and have always been curious how they were made. As I grew older, I also slowly realized how it wasn't so difficult to make after all. - Now that I knew how to make it, it was time to let the kiddos try it out! The thing is, I didn't have enough sand! The sand I ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (2 )

My first REAL 10km run at AKTV Fun Run
by Cheryl Villareal on Jun 6th, 2011
A lot of the runners or followers I meet automatically assume that since I'm a blogger, I must also run half or full marathons. I am often greeted with shocked reactions when I tell them the farthest distance I've gone is only 10km. What's worse is that I've only done the 10km twice and never again because I was afraid to fail! It's true that I've been running for a LONG time, but I never found the courage to step out of my comfort zone until rec...Read More » Tags Share Comments (2 )

Silly Foot and Hands Lobster
by Cheryl Villareal on Jun 1st, 2011
Summer reminds me of the beach and all the wonderful sea animals. Often, we do fish projects and crafts in school that we neglect all the other beautiful sea animals. So this time, why not try something new? Why not make a silly little lobster with those little hands and feet! I saw the idea from Moments of Mommyhood and I instantly knew I had to try it! - What you will need Red paint Paint brush White paper Eyes and mouth print o...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

End Hunger: Walk the World (My Barefoot Experience!)
by Cheryl Villareal on May 29th, 2011
Around June last year, the first ever Walk the World Philippines was held at MOA. I enjoyed the event because it was clear with its goal to just walk 1 km or run a short distance and be part in helping to put an end to world hunger. Last year there was a band playing near the starting/finish line, there were several people wearing costumes and body paint as representatives from different provinces, there were mascots, and so much more! It really ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Starfish Art with Rock Salt
by Cheryl Villareal on May 27th, 2011
I remember being so amazed with starfishes when I was younger. I used to think they were just star-shaped rocks! I was so curious how they moved and how they become "alive". It was only when I visited a beach during my teen years that I finally saw starfishes move and even piling up one over the other! They were really fun to watch and are something you can't miss during the summer season. - So for our theme on sand and sea, we decided to have ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

by Cheryl Villareal on May 25th, 2011
Every mom wants the best for her children. She wants her child to learn new things, meet new people and have fun! However, nowadays, moms need to work double time and extra hours to ensure the best for their kids. This leaves her stress and tired and without enough time for herself. - I'm not yet a mom myself, but I AM a preschool teacher. I understand the "juggler" life of every mom because of my kids' parents stories, my own parents stori...Read More » Tags Share Comments (550 )

by Cheryl Villareal on May 22nd, 2011
What IS Phiten anyway? Last week, I was invited to the Phiten product launch for media and bloggers. Unfortunately, it was scheduled on the same date as another event and I was unable to catch up. Either way, I have heard a lot of good things about the brand and would like to share it with the readers as well... especially my fellow runners. - What is Phiten? Phiten is a leading & innovative Japanese brand of sports ac...Read More » Tags Share Comments (370 )

by Cheryl Villareal on May 21st, 2011
DISCLAIMER: I am not the author of this blog, rather, it is a shared blog by my good friend Joy Waniwan - I am supposed to be doing my project for my grad school right now when I realized the date – four more days until Moving Up Day, the final event of the school year. It made me look back on all that’s happened for the past ten months. - This school year has been really tough for me - maybe the most difficult year since I st...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

My 10KM Training Run with the Eat.Pray.Run Team
by Cheryl Villareal on May 20th, 2011
After 3 years of joining fun runs and running in the 5km category for more than 20 times, and only twice running in the 10km category, I finally decided it was time to move forward! I've had so much fun joining fun runs and my goal progressed from just wanting to finish a race to beating my personal record of 30min for 5km. For the past 3 years, I've only had time to run during Sunday fun runs and had no training whatsoever. This summer, I wanted...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )
