Nike We Run Manila 2011
by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 18th, 2011
It's OUR city and we just RAN IT!! Woot woot! Congratulations to all finishers of Nike We Run Manila 2011!!! My friends and I were really excited for this race, we did however already expect the overcrowding runners at the starting line. It was "bumper to bumper" from beginning till the second kilometer! The runners slowly dispersed after that but it was still very crowded! You had to literally dodge slow runners or refrain from getting hit by...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

The Blue Boat in the Blue Ocean
by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 16th, 2011
When thinking of an art activity for kids, you have to stick with the things they love and are familiar with, and take advantage of that. In our toddler class, most of our kids love cars, trains, boats and airplanes! -- which is why we decided to include modes of transportation as one of our themes for this year. However, even before we get to that theme, we already tackled a few of these for a different topic. - While on our lesson on the ...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Happy 1st Year Anniversary to A Runner’s Circle Philippines!
by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 14th, 2011
I love to run but I somehow always find reasons not to. I never dreamed of running more than 5km when I first started running, and it was never my goal to go an inch further. I was happy just running a few 5km fun runs once or twice each month. However, when I started blogging... I started meeting more people who were into running. I started meeting several running bloggers and running enthusiasts.. I started meeting people who somehow challenged...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

The HTC ChaCha and HTC Sensation Smart Phones
by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 10th, 2011
When cellphones first came out, there were a few things they could do.... TEXT and CALL. To me, this was enough. I didn't want those additional features 'coz they really confused me and I felt I wouldn't be able to maximize the capabilities of my phone. So, I stuck with my 5110 and 3310 cellphones. But the cellphone business is quickly booming. More and more brands are coming out, more and more brands are being known. HTC is one of...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

I love to smile... don't you? So if that's okay with you... then here's how YOU ca...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Our Self-made Cardboard Playhouse
by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 8th, 2011
Whenever I see old boxes coming from soaps, shoes, gifts or the like, I often want to keep it in hopes of finding a purpose for it in the near future. I’m guessing most preschool teachers agree with me too! We like to keep all sorts of stuff, especially boxes! Regardless of how small or BIG the box may be, we just want to keep it because we feel throwing it away will make us regret it in the future. - Just a few weeks ago, on our unit o...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Sponge Stamping with Shades of Blue
by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 2nd, 2011
Last year, we let the kids do some SPONGE PAINTING as a extension on our lesson about squares. The kids had so much fun playing with the sponges because of their unique texture but the teachers also had to be careful not to give the kids too much paint because they tended to let the sponge absorb too much and squeeze out ALL the paint. As fun as this may be, we weren't prepared for a messy activity that day. So instead of just lettin...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Polecats Manila: Pole dancing at its Finest!
by Cheryl Villareal on Oct 1st, 2011
Just hearing the word POLE DANCING already flashes unwanted images in my head. Half naked young girls dancing on poles in a dark club trying to lure in one of the male audience in hopes that they could get some extra cash. That's the short preview of what I picture, and I'm sure that's what MOST of you think too. Back in the olden days, pole dancing used to be done only in night clubs and strip bars. Burlesque nights. - But this was WAY bac...Read More » Tags Share Comments (3 )
