Paper Bag Owl Craft
by Cheryl Villareal on Jan 24th, 2012
Whenever learning about the different animals, I always find myself at a crossroads as to what activity to do. There are so many animal crafts all over the internet and art books. All seem to be so wonderful that we always have a hard time deciding which one to go with. For our lesson on animals that fly/ birds, we decided to make an owl craft. My partner and I came up with 2 different ideas and we decided to merge them together. Thi...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Race for the Orphans
by Cheryl Villareal on Jan 23rd, 2012
As a teacher, I know how important education is for the young children. Though several only think it is the latter years that are important, studies have shown that it is the early years of education that mold the child to the person he or she will grow up to be. For most of you reading this post, you have been blessed with a strong foundation and good education that will help get you through the rest of your lives. For several others however,...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Fun Ear Cleaning Activity with Flour
by Cheryl Villareal on Jan 12th, 2012
Ok, before you feel confused or wonder what I’m doing with flour and ears… it’s an art activity we did in class. We were trying to come up with a way to teach kids about personal hygiene and ear cleaning and this is what we came up with. It was really fun and the kids were really grossed out thinking that the colored flour was real ear wax! - We did the activity not to teach the kids how to clean their ears but to let the kids know WH...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

My First Marshal Experience at Greentennial’s Rescue Run!
by Cheryl Villareal on Dec 31st, 2011
Just 2 weeks ago, Cagayan de Oro and Iligan was hit with a huge typhoon that destroyed several homes and took away thousands of lives. Typhoon Sendong was one of the strongest to ever hit the two places, and they sure weren’t ready for it. In the spirit of bayanihan, everyone else tried to help out by sending donations in cash and kind. Others even experienced going to Mindanao and seeing the damage first hand. For the running comm...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

Rescue Run: Community Run for Typhoon Sendong Victims
by Cheryl Villareal on Dec 24th, 2011
An entire town was nearly wiped out after a strong typhoon hit them just days ago. While I was comfortably hanging around with friends and “Facebooking”, THOUSANDS of people were fighting for their lives. I was shocked to come home and read all about it in the news… worse to even see videos of the people who lost their families, loved ones and home during the tragedy. Typhoon Sendong left at least 3,000 dead and thousands others homeless in...Read More » Tags Share Comments (0 )

Puzzled Christmas Wreath
by Cheryl Villareal on Dec 18th, 2011
It’s always fun to come up with a variety of objects to glue unto our Christmas wreaths! Last year, we tried gluing mittens and bottle caps, this year, we tried using old puzzle pieces to make colorful wreaths! So I’m sure most of you have tried letting your kids put together a puzzle or two and after completing it, the puzzle pieces start getting lost one by one. So now you’re left with a box filled with incomplete puzzle pieces, what d...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

by Cheryl Villareal on Dec 12th, 2011
We originally wanted to make a Christmas lantern that we could hang inside the classroom (and the kids could hang in their homes later on). However, while doing the activity, we realized we could make it more meaningful by turning this lantern into a Christmas card….and so we did just that! What you will need: Colored tissue paper/ Crepe paper/ Japanese Paper Colored cellophane Construction Paper Cutter Ca...Read More » Tags Share Comments (1 )

People of today’s generation have become very comfortable with GPS! In fact, we are so comfortable with it that we have it on almost ALL of our gadgets –in our cars, on our laptops and on our phones! So it’s really no surprise that the watch industry, particularly the sports watches also used this new technology. When Soleus first began back in 2009, they were determined to be a RUNNING WATCH.
