Coming from humble beginnings in Taichung, Taiwan four decades ago, Johnson Health Tech (JHT) has grown to be the largest fitness manufacturer in Asia, and third in the world today – with 24 wholly-owned subsidiaries, a service network of 60 countries, and 315 retail stores. Further extending its claim on the Asian market, JHT has just recently set foot and established a subsidiary in the Philippines.
During the corporate launch of Johnson Health Tech Philippines last June 21, 2016 at the Ballroom of Fairmont Hotel, they introduced their top-of-the-line fitness machines and let the audience experience it themselves through a circuit pentathlon.
The event was hosted by Boom Gonzales and Michelle Gumabao

Without further ado, meet the mean machines that can help you reach your fitness goals:
1. Matrix T5x Treadmill
If you’re a runner, there will surely be days that you won’t be able to run outdoors. Worry not, because the treadmill can be your best friend. Training indoors is safe and efficient. With modern technology, you can adjust the inclinations and set your workout to simulate the actual slopes of your track. The Matrix T5x Treadmill has an intuitive LED console display that provides a full workout selection. What’s also cool (no pun intended) is that it has an integrated personal fan to keep you cool during intense runs!
2. S-Drive Performance Trainer
The S-Drive Performance Trainer is a sled machine that provides a full-body workout that can help you improve your cardiovascular and muscular fitness. It combines a self-powered treadmill weighted sled, resistance parachute and harness system. It might look like a regular treadmill, but the difference is that the power will come from you. Its unique design includes a sturdy, built-in bar that simulates sled pushing and pulling without needing the space to use a traditional sled.
Celebrity fitness coaches Jim and Toni Saret show how the S-Drive Performance Trainer work
3. Matrix Rower
Rowing as a group exercise is gaining popularity nowadays. Rowing indoors proves to be a low-impact cardio workout for all body types. Did you know that it is not just an upper body workout? It works 9 major muscle groups (nine!): your quads, hamstrings, glutes, lats, core, shoulders, triceps, back and biceps. Those are 9 reasons to hit the Matrix Rower when you see one!
4. Matrix Krankcycle
Kranking is an upper body workout you can do with the help of a krankcycle. With continuous use, it can increase your upper body strength, as well as your core strength and stability. The Matrix Krankcycle is designed with independent crank arms for greater variety of movement, and adjustable crank arm height for greater range of muscle activation.
Coaches Jim and Toni Saret explain the benefits of kranking
5. Matrix IC7 Indoor Cycle
Like rowing, spinning or indoor cycling is becoming popular among fitness enthusiasts. Oh, trust me when I say that it is nothing like outdoor cycling! It tests your muscular endurance and leg power through various resistances, and you can actually go as fast as you can. What’s special about the Matrix IC7 Indoor Cycle is that it has an Integrated Coach by Color Console that displays both power and heart rate, with five colored zones (that represents a certain degree of effort) to help you hit your training targets.
The Matrix IC7 Indoor Cycle makes it easier for coaches to monitor your performance.
